What is Your Role in the Work of Justice?

Synopsis: This presentation will help to inform you about the $33 billion criminal industry surrounding present-day slavery and human trafficking, globally, nationally as well as locally, what is being done to combat the pandemic, and offer accessible strategies, resources and opportunities for involvement in the freedom movement.  Be an influencer as a voice for the oppressed and exploited.  Whether you are already committed to doing justice or you are newly awakened to this call, don't miss the opportunity to explore the needs of today.

Presented by: Kristina Sachs, Justice Advocate at International Justice Mission

Speaker Bio: Over the past 10 years, Kristina Sachs has devoted her life to helping the vulnerable and oppressed and will discuss the critical issues surrounding present-day slavery, human trafficking, and violent exploitation - both here and abroad. As an Advocate Volunteer, Kristina serves International Justice Mission, the human rights agency that brings rescue to exploited victims by working alongside local authorities, provides aftercare and legal support, and works to prosecute perpetrators and ensure public justice systems effectively protect the poor while operating in 18 countries around the world. In her role as public speaker and educator, Kristina connects churches, community organizations and individuals with resources and opportunities to engage in the anti-slavery movement.  On a local level, Kristina is a member of the Orange County Human Trafficking Task Force and recently appointed to their Advisory Council which serves as a catalyst for community involvement.  Having served other non-profit organizations, including World Vision, she has co-facilitated leadership seminars in Haiti, helped to reconstruct homes in hurricane-torn Mississippi, visited orphanages in Romania, and met with missionaries in Ethiopia who serve the indigenous Suri tribe. Kristina holds a B.A. in Speech & Communications Studies with a Minor in Music from San Francisco State University and earned her Master's degree in Leadership Development from Fuller Theological Seminary.
