How to Find and Use Online Resources at the Law Library and the Internet

In a hurry? Use the online resources at Riverside County Law Library and the Internet to find what you need! Resources covered include WestlawNext, Lexis Advance, CEB OnLaw, HeinOnline, the proper usage of Internet math and 24 free websites. Intermediate level.

Speaker Bio: Bret Christensen is a 13 year veteran of assisting the public as a Law Librarian and presently serves as the Research and Instructional Services Librarian at the Riverside County Law Library. Bret speaks, writes articles, teaches, and creates media of all kinds on the topic of how to conduct research for attorneys, paralegals, and pro se litigants. His blog at legalresearchiseasy.blogspot.com is but one example of his dedication to spreading the religion that legal research really is easy and that with a little practice anyone can learn the finer techniques of the trade.

Event Fee: $10.00 for OCPA members, $20.00 for non-members and $20.00 for all walk-ins who have not pre-registered online (both members and non-members) IF SPACE IS AVAILABLE. Walk-ins are on a first come first serve basis.

PLEASE NOTE: Effective January 1, 2016, OCPA will no longer accept checks as form of payment for event registration. Please log in to your OCPA account to submit electronic payment via credit card, debit card or PayPal.

*Cancellation Policy - If you need to cancel your reservation, please e-mail the Technology Section Chairs Donna McNally at dmcnally@sycr.com, Grady Glover at gglover@callahan-law.com and Kim Passey at kgpassey@outlook.com.  No refunds will be issued. Credit for a future meeting will be held in your OCPA account which may be applied to future meetings if your cancellation is received no less than 48 hours prior to the event.
