Adjustment of Status and Removing Conditions on Residence Training

Synopsis:
Under certain criteria, the Immigration and Nationality Act (INA) permits an individual to apply for or change status to permanent residency while in the United States and avoid having to return to their home country to complete visa processing. The common term for a change to permanent status is "adjustment of status."  This seminar will explain the ins and outs of the adjustment of status process, including practical information such as when and how to file, visa availability, and step-by-step instructions.
Also, if permanent residency was given based ona  marriage that was less than two years old, additional steps must be taken to remove these conditions and ensure the U.S. government that the applicant did not get married to evade the immigration laws of the United States. The seminar will go over the eligibility, how to remove the conditions, and the available options if the petitioner and the beneficiary are no longer married.

Presented by: Lisa D. Ramirez, Esq.
