Avoiding Liability in Drafting Business Contracts

This seminar qualifies for MCLE ETHICS CREDIT 1.0.

Presented By: Michaël Fischer

 Presenter Biography

Since 2004, Mr. Fischer has taught courses in Torts, Contracts and Civil Litigation, among others, at the University of California, Irvine’s ABA-accredited Paralegal Certificate Program. In 2012, Mr. Fischer received the University’s Distinguished Instructor Award and is currently on the Program’s Advisory Committee.

Mr. Fischer is the founder of CrossCourt Law, PC, in Orange County, California (http://www.CrossCourtlaw.com). With over 20 years of business law experience in Southern California, Mr. Fischer is general counsel to small and medium companies and institutions transacting business locally, nationally and globally. As such, Mr. Fischer manages clients’ day-to-day legal affairs including those related to contract negotiation and formation, labor and employment, corporate governance, liability prevention, and real estate.

Mr. Fischer's approach is to quickly and efficiently solve legal problems as they arise and implement proactive policies and contractual measures to reduce their occurrence. When litigation arises, Mr. Fischer handles every step from pleadings and discovery through to resolution via settlement, arbitration, or trial.

Mr. Fischer has been admitted to practice before the California State Bar as well as the Federal Northern, Central, Eastern, and Southern Districts of California, and also before the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals.

Finally, on a more personal level, Mr. Fischer is a devoted husband and father of two very active boys. The spare time he has is spent playing tennis, volunteering as a high school mock trial coach, and attempting ill-fated household handyman projects.
