Topic: Spinal Anatomy and Physiology for Lawyers

Presented by: Scott J. Dickinson, Esq., ADR Services, Inc.

Synopsis: This presentation will cover the basic anatomy of the spine and how the spine responds to trauma versus degeneration. Mr. Dickinson will cover numerous pathological areas such as herniation, annular tears, facet joint disease, end plate damage along with spondylosis; discuss the differences between trigger point, facet joint and epidural injections; and cover cross-examination techniques of experts on spinal pain generators and how to evaluate a soft tissue injury versus a spinal injury. As well as, go over shoulder impingement injuries and its physiology. It's a must for attorneys who deal with spinal injuries, neck and back pain complaints.

Speaker Biography: As a trial attorney Mr. Dickinson spent 10 years representing plaintiffs in civil matters and another 10 years representing the insurance industry interests in first party cases, personal injury, insurance bad faith and coverage issues. Mr. Dickinson was recognized as a Daily Journal “Top 50 Neutral” from 2010 – 2013 and has served as a full-time neutral in over 3,000 cases since 2006.

Mr. Dickinson has a Master’s Degree with extensive knowledge in spinal cord/brain injuries and associated soft-tissue injuries.
