HUNGRY FOR KNOWLEDGE SPEAKER SERIES-KICKOFF
Learn about the latest regarding the State Bar of CA's potential paraprofessional licensure, as part of its overall access to justice initiatives. The California Paraprofessional Working Group was formed by the State Bar Board of Trustees to develop recommendations for a paraprofessional licensure/certification program with the main aim to lncrease access to legal services in California.
The Board accepted final amended recommendations from the working group on May 20, 2022. Assembly Bill 2958, the annual fee bill signed into law on September 18, 2022, directed the State Bar to discontinue further work to advance these recommendations until 2025. Thus, 2025 is a pivotal year and we will cover the following points:

Presenter Biography
Virginia A. Suveiu, Esq., counsels on regulatory compliance and commercial law matters, including contract life cycle and negotiations. Virginia is also a mediator and arbitrator for the International Chamber of Commerce, the Orange County Bar Association, and the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority. Virginia also finds time in her busy schedule to teach contract law in the paralegal program at UCI Division of Continuing Education.
She is an active member of the State Bar of California and admitted to the U.S. District Court, Central District of California.
