OCPA is hosting a donation drive for Orangewood Foundation. The Orangewood Foundation is a nonprofit organization that supports at-risk youth, foster youth, and young adults transitioning out of the foster care system. They provide a variety of resources, including health & wellness, life skills training, mentorship, educational support and housing assistance. Their mission is to equip young people with the tools and resources they need to thrive in adulthood and successfully transition into independent living.
The Orangewood Foundation has shared that food continues to be their greatest area of need. Restocking their onsite pantry with nonperishable staples is especially critical, as they have seen an increased number of young participants visiting their resource center in search of essential support.
OCPA will be collecting donations at the September 20, 2025 Annual Educational Conference, Hilton Hotel Costa Mesa from 7:30am-3:30pm, 3050 Bristol Street, Costa Mesa, CA 92626. Register to attend the Conference HERE.
Items that are most needed include:
Canned foods including soups, beans, vegetables, fruits, tuna, chicken
Canned chili, stew, ravioli, etc.
Pasta and Pasta Sauce
Peanut butter, almond butter
Instant oatmeal
Macaroni & cheese boxes / cups
Instant noodles or ramen
Instant mashed potatoes
Rice, 1-2 lb bags
Jelly or jam
Nuts, nut mixes, trail mix
Cereal, granola bars, protein bars, jerky
Other shelf-stable, easy to prepare items
Gift Cards are always welcome and appreciated as well
*Food must be shelf-stable / non-perishable and not expired.
