Closing Obstacles, Contract Negotiations and Riders from a Real Estate Agent's Perspective

Title Vesting: The long and short by Title Operations Manager at Lawyers Title Orange County

Presented by: Deborah de Anda and Glenn Awerkamp

Speaker Bio: Glenn Awerkamp

As our Title Operations Manager at Lawyers Title Orange County, Glenn Awerkamp exemplifies the knowledge based point person needed to unravel the most complicated transactions. Glenn escalated his way up the ranks from Customer Service to Title Officer to Operations Manager through genuine hard work and extreme attention to detail.

Having a solid foundation to jump from, with his B.A. in Economics from UCI and subsequent M.B.A. from Pepperdine University, launched his career into the Title business. That, combined with the aforementioned upward progression through the ranks of the inner workings of Title Insurance practices, is why his surrounding Title Team and the Sales Representatives out in the field can frequently be heard to say they “can’t live without Glenn”. His strong emphasis in closings, underwriting, customer service, training and process development and improvement makes him an invaluable asset to Lawyers Title. Ironically you would think the immersion into the day-to-day specifics of the business would make him unavailable to the general public due to his many responsibilities when in fact, he is the most approachable of leaders. Countless customers and co-workers alike have benefitted from Glenn’s knowledge and know that were he not involved directly or indirectly with their business, many transactions could have gone awry. 13 years and counting we’re extremely fortunate to have Glenn Awerkamp on our team and you are too!

Speaker Bio: Deborah de Anda

Deborah de Anda has a passion for real estate. With 20 plus years in the Title Industry, closing upscale and luxury homes gave Deborah an insider’s view of making the best transactions for both parties. She took this vital experience and transitioned into real estate sales and hasn’t looked back since. Deborah interfaced with real estate agents, lenders, escrow companies, surveyors, appraisers and the general public researching and filtering requested information relevant to their needs and requests. Searching both lot books, which started when the Spanish land grants began in the 1850’s, and by computer to ascertain ownership, lien data, ingress/egress rights, tax information, utility rights, on tracts, parcel maps and sectional property including arbitrary accounts specific to the title company.

A lifelong resident of Southern California, and a real estate investor herself, she understands the California dream and has a track record of delivering that dream to her clients.

Blending her education in Interior Architecture and Design, she brings an eye for style, trends and creative visualization in helping select the right property or home for her buyers with the expertise to collaborate a winning sales strategy that assists sellers in successfully closing their transactions. Her interpersonal skills and commitment to her clients give her another advantage in productive closings. She is a co-founder of MIA Recovery, a non-profit organization searching to repatriate our fallen missing from the Vietnam conflict, to bring remains home to their awaiting families.
